Arizona College Preparatory was the very first recommended secondary school in the Chandler Unified School when it debuted in 2007, offering kids a safe and personalized learning environment. Arizona College Prep has recently started enrolling students in grades 9 through 12. Arizona College Preparatory has consistently ranked among the best schools in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.
ACP Knights Athletics
ACP relocated to its first independent site on Alma School Road and Erie Street, roughly a mile distant from its Chandler High School-affiliated elementary and junior high campus. It was there that the Knights’ sports programs began, including head coach Myron Blueford’s football program. As the school grew and the waiting list grew, so did the yearning for students to take part in campus-based athletics.
Now, the school has 2 different softball fields for varsity and for junior varsity. A large weight room adjacent to its new, bigger gymnasium, locker rooms large enough to accommodate all of the school’s sports programs that will bear the Knights’ logo for the first time when the program begins in the spring.
The football field, though, is undoubtedly one of the most intriguing new amenities on campus. It’s where the ACP event will begin its season, coming off its first-ever area title.
Arizona College Prep Ranking
There are a variety of reasons why parents camp out overnight to turn in an application so their children can attend this school. Not only are the employees and teaching staff the best you can get, but the academic and behavioral demands are also very high. Arizona College Prep Oakland Campus outperforms 99.4 percent of Arizona middle schools. It also ranks #1 among the Chandler Unified District’s six ranked middle schools. These rankings are based on student achievement on state-mandated examinations and globally available assessments on college-level curriculum.
Collaboration With SpaceVisions
As representatives of Students of Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), a team of 13 Arizona College Prep High School students attended the SpaceVisions Symposium in November in Houston, TX, accompanied by professors Rachna Nath and Larry Whitmyer (SEDS). ACP High School was one of the two schools from western United States to get this honor, and one of only five schools nationwide. Students met with NASA personnel and heard about internship and mentoring options with NASA as well as a variety of other commercial space organizations. For years to come, we’re excited to watch how our Knights contributes to this initiative and the space industry.
